Other Bases Retirees

The primary purpose of this website is to organize a "Retirement Party" for New York Flight Attendants.  We've heard from FA's from all bases and welcome all retirees  to share their photos and stories in his section. Maybe even give us some tips for the party!

IOR Retirees have an active bulletin board. To view it click here: C.R.'s Honeybuns

Mary was based at JFK in the late 70's and from there went to DFW and IOR. She retired in 2001 while based at IOR. Mary is living in Tucson, AR and loves retirement! She keeps in contact with Jeannette Armstrong and Nancy Cook and says they are going on a three month world cruise this winter. Sounds good to me.

Duke and I built our retirement home in Summerlin (Las Vegas) in 1997, so I transferred from JFK and commuted to IDF before retiring in April, 2003.  Like everyone else, I became too involved in volunteer work and even started up a business as a fashion consultant for a high-end line of designer clothing.  Two years later, I found myself working harder than ever and realized I had more time off when I was flying!  So, I closed the fashion business, resigned from Junior League, and decided to be retired again.  I now spend most of my leisure time working out at the health club and taking physical fitness classes (Core, balance ball, tai chi).  Sitting on our patio and looking out over the golf course at the mountains and the lights of Las Vegas is so peaceful and enjoyable, but we have fabulous dining and entertainment just 20 minutes away!  What a great place to live!!!!

Lovada Poel has retired and is living in Upstate NY is the summer and Spruce Creek, FL in the winter. Spruce Creek is a fly in community and has a large AA community there.
Lovada was based in NY for many, Many years and finished her career in MIA/ IOR?

I will never forget my first 10 years at LGA. Now living in Brockton,MA, I retired on 6-1-2010. Life is good!

I retired from American in June of 2004, but did not stray to far from aviation. My twenty years at JFK will always remain a very special place in my heart and will be what I remember first and most often when I think of my flying career.  The last 13 years of my career was spent commuting from Atlanta, GA to MIA. I retired from AA while based in MIA.
I am now a part-time Cabin Safety Instructor for General  and Business Aviation pilots, F/A's, and mechanics here in Atlanta. Love it! See you all in May. Patrich6@bellsouth.net

A long time JFK FA!
I am living my dream of retirement in Hawaii, and  still spending part of the year in Virginia.  I miss everyone in New York, as I did every day I was based in DFW.
Retirement is great..more than I had hoped for.  Miss the friends, but not one day of flying!

I retired June of 2005 after a wonderful career starting in 1964, I  always knew I'd be part of the " jet set " just didn't plan on  working so many of the trips!  I've been based in LGA, BUF, DCA, LAX,  LAX-I, IOR, AND IMA. In my last years of flying I flew CRAF and military charters in and out of the Middle East.  I live on the West Coast of Fla, outside of Sarasota, and am currently president of the  Gulf Coast Kiwis.  We have luncheons almost monthly and would love to have snowbird visitors join us. You can reach me at     thegulfcoastkiwis-mac.com.

After leaving NY I moved to San Diego, and flew out of LAX - I until my retirement in 2001. Kathe Votsis

Judy and Ted (retired AA Captain) are still flying! Only now it is in a single engine Beech. They go between Wellfleet, MA, Boynton Beach, FL, and Treasure Cay in the Bahamas. Judy was based all over the system, including JFK She ended her career in MIA.

"I flew out of JFK from 1989 until 1994; then, transferred to IMA and retired, effective April 1, 2003.

I presently live in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, a wonderful small, friendly, western town with a hot springs resort right in the middle of "downtown", the Rocky Mountains to the East and smaller mountain ranges surrounding the area.  One of the national forests in our area called (of all names) the San Juan National Forest and the river which runs through town is called the San Juan River!!!  This area is a four seasons outdoor paradise.  Durango is one hour to our west; Denver is five hours north; and Albuquerque is four hours southwest.  For those of you so inclined, do plan a trip and give a call...I am in the phone book.

"To all with whom I've laughed, danced, drank, and toured...and with whom I have shared a heartfelt moment, shed a tear, triumphed over adversity and tragedy because of our strong spirits, dedication to service and our unspoken courage, I treasure you in my heart and honor you always because I know, first hand, Flight Attendants are much more than meets the eye!"

I retired  in May 2006, from Boston Intl, and am now living in Tucson, AZ.  As you can see by the photo I sent, there is a new "man" in my life.  His name is Mylo, he is much younger than me, and we go to dressage show together!  I am still married to Ret. Capt. David Tozier, and we are out here in the southwest living the good life.  Although I can't make the reunion this year, I really look forward to attending the next one.  As everyone says, "I don't miss the flying, I miss the F/A's", that is certainly true for me, but I also miss the "galley gossip"!   My e-mail address is ridetriciaride-yahoo.com,  would love to hear from you all.

I too have joined the ranks of the retired.  I received the "bum's  rush" out of JFK in mid March when I told them I wished to retire  April 1. Joe took early retirement  the same day.  He was still Captain on the  777 in MIA.  I know you saw him at your retirement party in BA. Well, needless to say not very many realise I even retired. I miss my friends but I do NOT miss the commute. Joe & I are settling in TENNESSEE!!! Get to Dollywood and give us a ring.  Love to see you. You have my E-Mail so feel free to share it and to keep in touch. I am learning to use this MAC so I will answer the mails I get as  quickly a I can. I would love to hear from AA friends.

Surprisingly, I began  my flying career when some people were thinking about retiring!  I refer to myself as a "late bloomer":)  Thankfully, I was able to start  a career that, although not anywhere as long as most, was long enough to allow me to experience, enjoy and retire.

I live in Dallas with my husband who is a retired Naval Officer and is also retired from Raytheon. We have two daughters and three young grandchildren.

My older daughter,  a flight attendant with American, is based in New York and is   one of many reasons why I love to visit!

My retirement date was January 1, 2013 and although bittersweet, I'm looking forward to new changes in my life. I was  incredibly lucky to get the opportunity to work with so many wonderful flight attendants at what I think is the best base with the best people in the system!

My email is elle708-aol.com.

I was based in ORD and MIA.  I moved up from MIA to a 55 and up golf cart community.  The population is about 75,000 and will top out at 110,000.  It's a great place.  The Villages
Anyway, we started a FA Club several years ago and we now have 78 flight attendants from many different airlines.  I thought that you might want to have a look at our web site.  Villages FA Club
